Banana Coconut Chia Smoothie
A bland, sippable smoothie designed for people on GLP-1 medications who are dealing with nausea. It uses gentle banana, light coconut milk, and chia-boosted oats for easy-to-digest energy and protein without strong smells or heavy fats.
Ingredients
- 150 g ripe banana — peeled and sliced
- 300 ml light coconut milk — well shaken
- 40 g certified gluten-free oats — quick or rolled
- 20 g chia seeds — whole
- 4 g fresh ginger — very finely grated optional
- 1 g ground cinnamon — ground optional
- 150 ml cold water — filtered
Instructions
- Add the light coconut milk, cold water, oats, chia seeds, and sliced banana to a blender jar.
- Sprinkle in the finely grated ginger and ground cinnamon, if using, keeping amounts small to maintain a mild flavor and aroma.
- Blend on low speed first, then increase to high for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and the chia and oats are fully broken down.
- Let the smoothie rest in the blender for 3–5 minutes so the chia and oats can thicken slightly, then blend briefly again and taste; add a little extra water if you prefer a thinner, easier-to-sip texture.
- Pour into small glasses and sip slowly, especially if your stomach feels unsettled.
Tips for GLP-1 users
If nausea is strong, start with just a few small sips chilled, and consider omitting the ginger and cinnamon at first to keep flavor and aroma as neutral as possible.
