Creamy Cocoa Tofu Energy Smoothie
This creamy cocoa smoothie uses silken tofu and plant protein powder to pack in high-quality protein and calories in a small, sippable portion—ideal when GLP-1 medications blunt your appetite. The mild flavor, smooth texture, and low aroma make it easy to tolerate while still delivering steady energy and helping protect lean muscle.
Ingredients
- 200 g silken tofu — drained
- 250 ml unsweetened soy milk — chilled
- 40 g chocolate plant-based protein powder
- 80 g frozen banana — sliced
- 8 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 20 g smooth peanut butter
- 10 g maple syrup optional
- 100 g ice cubes optional
Instructions
- Add the silken tofu and chilled soy milk to a blender and blend on low until completely smooth and creamy.
- Add the chocolate plant-based protein powder, cocoa powder, frozen banana, and peanut butter to the blender.
- Blend on medium–high until very smooth; if the texture is too thick for sipping, add a little extra soy milk, 20–30 ml at a time, until it reaches a drinkable consistency.
- Taste and blend in maple syrup if you prefer more sweetness, then add ice cubes (if using) and blend again briefly until the smoothie is cold and velvety.
- Pour into 2 small glasses; sip slowly over 10–20 minutes, stopping when comfortably full.
Tips for GLP-1 users
If your appetite is very low, start with half a serving and store the rest; the smooth, low-odor texture is easier to tolerate than solid food while still giving you concentrated protein and calories.
For an even gentler option, skip the ice and let the smoothie come closer to room temperature, which some GLP-1 users find more soothing on the stomach.
